Sixth Day of Navratri – Mata Katyayani
Mata Katyayani is the sixth avatar of Goddess Durga and is worshipped by the people on the sixth day of the Navratri. Mata Katyayani is considered to be the prime Goddess of the Vraj Mandal. Rishni Katyayan had observed severe penance and the Mata took birth as a daughter to the Rishi and that’s the reason Mata is known as Katyayani.
The vehicle of the Mata is Lion. Mata has 3 eyes and 4 hands. In one hand Mata hols sword named, Chandrahaas, in the other hand Mata holds a Lotus flower and the rest of the two hands are in particular mudras.
Mata Katyayani Pujan :
The on ewho worships Mata with the intention of Kudlini Jagruti, should worship Mata Katyani on the sixth day and then one should make their mind stable in the Aagna Chakra and should seek blessing from the Mata. On the sixth day of the Durga pooja, one should first do the puja of the Kalash and the God-Goddess in the Kalash. After that one shouls do the puja of Mata Katyayani. One should take flowers in the right hands and should seek the blessing from the Goddess.

Katyayani Shubham Dadayad devi Danavdhatini.
Ya Devi Sarvabhuteshu Maa Katyayani Rupen Sanshitha,
